what is the best video camera to use to make professional movies?

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

I am 14 and I want to be a Movie Director when I get older. I have been looking at cameras for a while now and have bought quite a few, but none have worked well enough. My friends and I make videos for contests and I’ve been trying to introduce myself to the directing world.

Im looking for a camera that is within a reasonable price range, also any video editing software tips would be nice too. I would like to buy a camera that takes pictures and records video, but a camcorder would be fine too.

you can consider buying Sony HDR-FX7 3-CMOS Sensor HDV High-Definition Handycam Camcorder with 20x Optical Zoom

What is the best video camera to film skateboarding?

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

So my boyfriends birthday is in May and I want to get him something really nice. He really loves to skateboard and is really good at it. But his digital camera got stolen so he can’t record or take anything of him and his friends skating. So I wanna buy him a video camera any suggestions? The amount doesn’t really matter to much

ok, i am also a skateboarder, so hear me out. this is a very controversial subject. ask him how serious he is about making skate videos, and how much his camera was before. if it was in the 1000’s or 2000’s of dollars, that might be what you want to look at. also, make sure it has what he wants and can be customizable, such as fisheyes(type of lens), camera handles, and so on. he might prefer a sd card recorder over a mini dv(little vcr tapes), so be sure to ask him. good luck on your purchase!!!

How do I transfer videos from my video camera to my computer?

Friday, March 5th, 2010

I have a JVC Digital Video camera (GR-D271). The videos I would like to transfer to my PC are on cassette tapes. The video camera came with a USB cord, but whenever I hook it up, my computer doesn’t seem to recognize it.

I would also like to start recording video on a memory card, but whenever I put the memory card in and go to record, it will only let me take pictures, not record video.

Am I doing something wrong, or do I just need other software…?

The JVC GR-D271 is a miniDV tape based camcorder.

Your computer needs a firewire port. If it does not have one, hopefully it has an expansion slot so you can add one. You also need a firewire cable.

Firewire400, IEEE1394a, DV and i.LINK are all the same thing. USB won’t work (you already know this). USB-firewire adapter/converters won’t work, either.

Connect the firewire cable to the DV port of the camcorder and the firewire port of the computer. Camcorder needs to be in "Play" or "VCR" mode. MovieMaker will capture the video. iMovie will Import the video.

The camcorder manual can be downloaded from JVC:
http://books.jvcservice.com/booklist.asp?Model=GR-D271US
If it is possible to record video to the memory card, instructions to do that would be in the manual – I read through it and did not see anything to support this capability – but I could have just missed it.

Refer to page 45… USB for still image transfer from the memory card; DV for video transfer from the miniDV tape.

How do you make a home video from a standard video camera to DVD format?

Monday, March 1st, 2010

About a couple of years ago, I’ve had a friend of mine record a live performance of me singing at a school gig using my own video camera. Now, I’m doing my best to find out how to make that video go onto a DVD-R or DVD-RW format. Do you have to have special type of equipement to do this or can you do this on your own? The video is 45 to about an hour long, and I don’t remember what kind of tape that was used on that video camera.

Probably hi 8. The simplest way is to take it to Wal Mart pay $20 and wait two weeks.

Does Flip Video camera work with other editing soft wares besides the one that it comes with?

Saturday, February 27th, 2010

I got a flip video camera for christmas instead of the nice professional one my mom was planning on getting me :-( I wanted to do serious film projects but I don’t even think I can use Imovie or anything besides the limiting flip editing system which I know is not accurate. . .

With this one, you can easily capture, edit and share your video like a pro,but it need to pay,if you have interested, just have a look.

What type of video camera should an amateour buy who wants the film to look VINTAGE.?

Tuesday, February 23rd, 2010

I need something inexpensive, so a camera that is older is better. Also, if I buy an old-fashioned video camera, how do I transfer that onto a macbook?? I need lots of suggestions.

Most macbooks come with iMovie its a great beginner program and a really good cheap camera is the Flip Mino HD

What kind of video camera should I buy in order to make a flipbook animation movie?

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

I don’t really know if i can use a normal handheld video camera…. Plus, I’ve drawn quite alot of cartoons and now i want to get a camera for me to use so i can record my animated short ‘movies’…
I know i’ll have to get the software, too.

hey, i am guessing by flip-book you mean stop motion, if im right then youd be %100 better of getting a digital camera for the job, rather than taking little bits of footage you can have individual photos which are easier and much better quality!

How do i upload a video from my video camera to my computer?

I have a RCA Small Wonder White Video Camera and a Dell Windows
computer. I plugged in my Video Camera to my computer and a file came up and asked me which windows to do? And it has a whole list of things i can do with the camera. What do i choose and/or what else can i do?

I bet the manual would tell you which one to choose
