Is it possible to record video using macro feature with any of these cameras? For example to record video of a water bug from distance of a few centimeters? Which cameras have the hd video feature? Thanks.

I had a olympus …
I had a olympus mju790(7MP) and the picture quality is no where near panasonic FX7(5MP), and not to mention the ridiculously more expensive XD card over super affordable SD card. My olympus got stolen, then I bought FT1.The picture quality is superb and so is the video. But compare to sony DSC TX-5, FT1 is bit bulky by 32%. And sony is $200 more expensive. But maybe sony takes good quality pictures too. Has anyone had compare between between those two?

A year ago I made …
A year ago I made the mistake of buying the Fuji Z33WP. I wish I had seen this video first. Took the grandkids to a water park. I must have made a dozen attempts of my grandkids entering the water from the water-slide. All I could get is the splash afterwards. Add to that horrific shutter-lag is the times it just cant decide on what exposure setting to use. I missed many shots at a wedding reception because of this. I’m giving the Fuji to my grand-son and ordering the Canon.

Go with the Canon …
Go with the Canon D10. My sister bought the olympus because of my destructive kids. She thought it would be nice to have a camera that wouldn’t be ruined when my kids tossed it in the toilet. She hates the picture quality. I got the Canon D10 and I love it. She is so jealous of the quality and all of the cool functions that it has. You can really get creative with the pictures and videos you take. Love it!

I love the Canon …
I love the Canon D10. It has a ton of features that most cameras don’t. I play with the color swap and color accent features constantly. It takes a great still photo and the videos are neat!!!! You can really do a lot with this. My sister is jealous. Her olympus just sucks when it comes to picture quality. Definitely love the D10. I don’t give a crap that it isn’t the size of a credit card. Come on, quality over looks all the way.

Holy crap!!! I’ve …
Holy crap!!! I’ve done tons of research and I finally just ordered the canon powershot D10 and was nervous that I may have made the wrong choice. My sister got the olympus and I was going to as well. I just found the D10 and liked everything it had to offer. Now, after watching the video, I feel confident in my choice!!! Yeah

I think they …
I think they completely forgot about the Olympus 8000’s Tap feature. They did not even have to use the buttons or dial while swimming..just tap the top or sides to choose an option. I’d like to see them test the Olympus 8000 one more time.
April 16th, 2010 at 11:13 am
just took the test …
just took the test under water, but it was important to generalize taking into account all the options, not just under water.
however, thanks for the demonstration was very useful to leave me more confused! = P I’m in doubt between the Olympus 8000 (was my 1º options) and Canon (2º).
