octopus steals my video camera and swims off with it (while it’s Recording)

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

while trying to get video of a wild octopus, it suddenly dashed towards me and rips my shiny new camera from out of my hands, then swims off, all while the camera is recording! he swam away very quickly like a naughty shoplifter. after a 5 minute chase, I placed my speargun underneath him and he quickly and curiously grabbed hold of the gun as well, giving me enough time to reach in and grab the camera from out of his mouth. I didn’t feel threatened at all during the whole ordeal. he seemed to be fixated on the shiny metallic blue digital camera. the only confusing behavior was how he dashed off with it like a thief haha. cheeky octopus.

Lydia – A Camera Lens and Careful Days

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

http://www.myspace.com/lydia

It’s always blue and black or breaking skin,
Well, cover up, girl, we’ll finally leave again.
And you breathe me in so well,
in your room under the cover of this night.

We are safe; we are, as long as you whisper.
But my eye was caught by your picture.
That’s hanging from your mirror,
like something you forgot.
I’ll say we couldn’t sleep just staring at the clock,
But when numbers seem to blur and the reflection is lost,
Anything is love as you stare into your box.

So now we’re used to the rain.
We can swim and I’ll say we were never worried,
Because the floods will only bring the coast and Atlantic closer.
I thought I told you, girl.
I thought that I showed you the reason;
All I truly want is to get in your head
And steal your imagery.
So we can both go to your second story house.
You would never believe this snow.
It gets so heavy on our lungs.
But it’s been creeping up your walls and closing down the roads.
But I swear I’m loving while.
I swear I still will hide away from the cold.

“I think that for me, everyday would be the last day of summer.
Or I’d be left out in the cold, with no place to go.
Because, there are very few people that I can relate to
to every day of my life, forever, that will understand me,
Because I’ve gone places where very few people ever go.
I mean, I played the ultimate gamble of all; I gambled my life.”

“You’re fine, go back to work and we’ll let you know when she comes.”.

I swear we’re almost there and we’ll be safe inside.
Down those stairs to your room where I could stay for days.
Substance is over us, please don’t do this.
‘Cause this may never change,
oh, but I’m still here, here.
It’s all the same.

2 of 3 clips IMPROVED FOOTAGE – Bryant Rams Toronto Cyclist Sheppard – Security Camera views it.

Sunday, October 4th, 2009

This is better footage of 2 of the 3 available clips. There is a 3rd clip in other videos. (Annotated, Eyewitness, Raw) This is a cut from security camera footage showing the car driven by former Ontario Attorney General Michael Bryant ramming cyclist Darcy Allan Sheppard, immediately prior to Sheppard’s death from being dragged down the street, colliding with obstacles and being run over.

This footage appears to be the initial “minor accident” reported in the media. I estimate that Sheppard was pushed along the ground for over a car length.

This footage is from a single report on City News; however it was not presented in such a concise and condemning manner. I am concerned that this footage has been available from very early on, but has been obfuscated thru editing decisions. This has contributed to confusion and possibly unwarranted slander towards Mr. Sheppard, and unfairly protects Bryant from being depicted in a negative manner.

*** This footage is unaltered except: re-sizing / cropping to fit, brightness contrast adjustment for clarity, cuts between camera angles, and unavoidable artifacts from the video compression algorithms used on the source footages and youtube publishing.
